Initial Vector (Audio CD)#
Background#
Initial Vector continues the story of Joanna Dark following events in Perfect Dark Zero. As a companion to the physical book, Microsoft and Tor Books produced an unabridged, eight disc audio CD. It was narrated by Orlagh Cassidy and Scott Sowers. Notably, the marketing for Initial Vector mentions it was intended to be part of a three book series. However, ultimately, only two books would be released: Initial Vector and Second Front, with Initial Vector being the only book of the two to get an audio CD.
The audio CD originally released on December 13th, 2005, a few months after the book. However, it had a short production run and was not made available digitally in any official capacity. I have long been fascinated by the Rareware’s first person shooters, so I purchased a copy in mid-2026, ripped the audio, and uploaded it as a series of loseless WAV audio files for others to enjoy.
